Computer Vision : Case Studies

Oil Drilling and Extraction

⚡ Problem:

Monitor the sludge rinsing process to prevent damage to the drilling equipment.

To address the needs of our Client, an oilfield service company specializing in drilling operations, the implementation of a computer vision system became essential for monitoring the sludge rinsing process.

And, ensuring proper rinsing is crucial to prevent potential damage to the drilling equipment.

The computer vision system we developed accurately quantifies the volume of sludge discharged from the shale shaker. This capability enables timely adjustments to the drilling process, ensuring operational efficiency and protecting equipment integrity.

⚙️ Results and Solutions
The creation of a web interface capable to process up to 3 video streams simultaneously was developed.
– Accurately quantifies the volume of sludge discharged from the Shale Shaker.
– Enabling timely adjustments to the drilling process.
– Ensuring operational efficiency and protecting equipment integrity.
The sludge speed was estimated utilizing an optical flow algorithm.
By harnessing machine learning techniques, we've conducted sludge detection on the video stream, enabling the calculation of discharged sludge volume based on movement speed.
